International Gateway

International Gateway is focused on Speke Boulevard and Speke Road, which form the main southern gateway into Liverpool from the M57 and M56 motorways.

Major employers in the area include Jaguar, Eli Lilly, Novartis, Liverpool John Lennon Airport and the Littlewoods Shop Direct Group. The area also boasts one of the North West’s leading retail developments, New Mersey Shopping Park. Significant progress has been made on the regeneration of Speke Halewood, with wide-ranging infrastructure improvements and major new developments like Boulevard Industry Park and the new Speke District Centre.

Key projects include:

Estuary Commerce Park

Major new arrivals at the Estuary Commerce Park in recent years have included the Riverside Group, the National Biomanufacturing Centre, Liverpool Blood Centre and Communisis.

Apart from its role in attracting investment and jobs to the area, the Estuary has clearly helped to stimulate the wider commercial property market. This has resulted in other successful developments being established in Speke Halewood, such as the adjacent Liverpool International Business Park, where German company Prinovis has established Europe’s most advanced magazine printing plant.

The Matchworks

The Matchworks
The Matchworks
The Matchworks has been one of Speke Halewood’s success stories. Urban Splash has now completed the second phase of redevelopment work at the former Bryant and May site. The refurbishment of the 1948 building has added 7,200 sq m of office and light industrial space, while a spectacular signature building - the Matchbox - has been created in a prominent position at the front of the site. 1,670 sq m of high-quality accommodation is contained within the four-storey, glass-fronted development.

Dakota Business Park

Speke Aerodrome
Speke Aerodrome
Close to the Matchworks scheme Priority Sites has brought forward the Dakota Business Park development on a former Speke Aerodrome hangar site on Banks
Road. This hybrid development offers eight industrial units and seven office suites. When fully let it is expected to have generated 165 new jobs.

Venture Point

The Venture Point scheme, within Speke Industrial Estate, offers serviced development plots from 929 sq m to 1,674 sq m. In addition, a linked Langtree Group development - Venture Point West - has brought 12 business units to the market ranging from 292 sq m to 1,315 sq m in size.
